Jason Wells started his career not in software but in strategy. As a manager at A.T. Kearney during the telecom deregulation era, he built quantitative pricing models and led international client teams. That early grounding in how industries actually restructure during technological disruption has shaped how he thinks about AI ever since.
From there his path ran through some of the most interesting inflection points in tech. He was VP at Handango, which was building mobile software distribution before the word app store existed. Then Sr. VP at Sony Pictures, directing development and distribution of mobile games and digital content at a global scale. By the time the smartphone era arrived, he had spent a decade inside the systems that moved software and content to people at scale.
He spent nearly a decade as CEO and Chief Product Officer at Convirza, where he created and led the ML team and achieved first-to-market integration of NLP for advertising feedback into marketing automation. That meant building deep neural network models for classifying 32 different event types well before large language models existed. The technical foundation he built there directly informs how AI Dev Lab approaches production deployments today.
AI Dev Lab was founded in 2018. Since then Jason has also served as Head of AI, fractional Chief Product Officer, investor, and board advisor across companies including NOW CFO, Sentry AI, Massive Alliance, ReloRadar, IT Curves.
